The four most common body shapes are Apple, Pear, Hourglass and Rectangle.
Dressing for your body type can help you look wider, thinner, taller or even shorter.
The second step I do with my clients is figure out what body shape they are and style them accordingly.
If you are curvy with a tiny waist then you are Apple so you should focus on your shoulders and legs. Choose clothes that don’t add material or volume around the midsection. Show off your legs by wearing skirts.
If you are have more curves on the bottom and narrower on top then you are Pear so you should balance your figure by drawing attention to your upper body. A-line tops and dresses are key.
If you have a slim lower body and carry weight around your middle then you are Hourglass which means you should emphasize your curves. Don’t try to hide them! Pencil skirts and a crop top are ideal for you! Or if a crop top scares you, try a wrap dress!
If you are not curvy and your hips are the same size as your waist then you are a Rectangle and you want to highlight the smallest part of your waist so your hips and bust appear larger. A belt will give an hourglass illusion!
These are only a few but when you are Styled by M you will have several more tips and I will have you walking with a spring in your step!
