Having a baby or being a Mother has never been something that I have wanted to do BUT if I ever was pregnant best believe I would want to look beautiful and feel the best that I could! Your body goes through so many changes at this time and your emotions are all over the place. Some women glow during their pregnancy and others struggle with it and have a more challenging pregnancy.
The first trimester is usually spent trying to wear clothes to hide the small baby bump and little bit of weight gain as most people do not like to announce their pregnancy till the second trimester. During this time avoid any tight or clingy clothes. Wrap shirts and dresses, a-line skirts and empire waist shirts are ideal.
Your second trimester should be all about comfort but still stylish. A good tip is to buy a few pieces that will grow with you since you will feel like you are getting bigger every few weeks and you are not trying to break the bank. Dresses and jumpsuits are perfect for this time in your pregnancy. Some women refuse to wear maternity clothes and think they will wear regular clothes throughout their pregnancy. Maternity clothes are very stylish these days though and they are incredibly comfortable. I highly suggest getting a few maternity pants and dresses that you will be able to wear throughout your pregnancy.
Third trimester you might start to feel huge and uncomfortable so you want to avoid anything with buttons, zippers or elastic waistbands. This is when maxi dresses come in. If at this point it’s winter then you can throw a sweater on over top of the dress and feel cozy yet stylish. Never forget that if you are feeling a bit frumpy and need a pick me up to your outfit that accessories and shoes can go a long way.
There are lots of ways to keep it cute in the office while pregnant too! A pair of cute shoes, a blazer and some leggings is the perfect look. If you happen to be pregnant during the holiday season then don’t worry there are lots of beautiful dresses that you can wear to keep you in the festive season.
Don’t feel like you have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. That can obviously be quite costly. I would suggest doing some second hand shopping, borrowing clothes from your friends or even wearing some of your partner’s clothes! Don’t be timid of patterns, stripes and colour! Also, don’t be afraid to show off your curves, embrace this special time in your life and love how beautiful you look!
