What’s hot in 2018?

I have always and will always be someone who is on top of the latest trends.  I don’t necessarily like all of them but I always like to know what is trendy each season.  If I love it best believe I will find it and rock it!  If you really want to be fashion forward pay attention to what people are wearing in Europe.  Eventually those styles will make it’s way to North America.  Eventually being the key word, lol.

Here is what you can expect to see in 2018.  Top handle small bags, round sunglasses, slouch boots, cape jackets, tearaways, fishnet socks, kitten heels,  pastels, sequins, hip sacks and trench coats.  Love any of them?  Will you be rocking any of these looks?  I will be and already am!!

DIFFERENT LOOKS – Do you know what yours is?

There are so many different types of looks and styles and everyone has their own taste.  There no rules in fashion so you can have as many looks as you want,  the main goal is to wear them well and have you feeling fabulous from head to toe!  I have several looks that I feel most comfortable with and when I say comfortable I am not talking yoga pants!  If your clothes are not comfortable you are not wearing the right size or you are not wearing them right.   I am Urban, Fashion Forward,  Trendy,  Girly and Sporty!  I will help you find your own unique look.   Are you any of these? Which ones can you see yourself wearing and which ones do you already wear?

BODY TYPES – Apple, Pear, Hourglass and Rectangle.

body types

The four most common body shapes are Apple,  Pear,  Hourglass and Rectangle.

Dressing for your body type can help you look  wider, thinner,  taller or even shorter.
The second step I do with my clients is figure out what body shape they are and style them accordingly.

If you are curvy with a tiny waist then you are Apple so you should focus on your shoulders and legs.    Choose clothes that don’t add  material or volume around the midsection.  Show off your legs by wearing skirts.

If you are have more curves on the bottom and narrower on top then you are Pear so you should balance your figure by drawing attention to your upper body.  A-line tops and dresses are key.

If you have a slim lower body and carry weight around your middle then you are Hourglass which means you should emphasize your curves.  Don’t try to hide them!  Pencil skirts and a crop top are ideal for you!  Or if a crop top scares you,  try  a wrap dress!

If you are not curvy and your hips are the same size as your waist then you are a Rectangle and you want to highlight the smallest part of your waist so your hips and bust appear larger.   A belt will give an hourglass illusion!

These are only a few but when you are Styled by M you will have several more tips and I will have you walking with a spring in your step!

Colour Palettes – Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall

When you are wearing the right colours for your skin tone,  your eyes and your hair colour then you are that much closer to looking your best!

There are four types of colour palettes to choose from.  Winter,  Spring, Summer and Fall.

Once you know your colour palette then you can emphasize all of your most attractive features by using the right clothing, accessories, and makeup.

I am Winter and knowing what colours look best on me have really stepped up my fashion game.   Our first step in working together will be to figure out if you are Winter, Spring,  Summer or Fall.
