If someone called you vain would you take offense to that? That is exactly what happened to my friend and I recently. We were discussing serums and skin care products and her friend chimed in and said we were vain because of our efforts to keep our skin looking as young as possible. I had never really looked at it that way and I was surprised but I was not offended at all. I am not ashamed to say I am 43 and will do almost anything to try and keep my skin looking as youthful as possible. I know that I am not alone in this and that is why skin care products and procedures are a multi-billion-dollar business.
This comment made me start questioning my actions, am I too vain? Do I care too much about how I look? Maybe, but I don’t care. This is who I am and I am growing to love myself more and more each day.
I remember very clearly when I was seven years old, I was playing on the swing set and a boy told me his brother had a crush on me. I told him that was not possible because I was ugly. I will never forget that moment. I often think of that memory and think how sad it was that I thought that about myself, especially at seven years old! I believe that is around the time that I started to take an interest in fashion and how I looked. I wanted to dress in clothes that made me feel pretty. That is when my passion for fashion bloomed. Some might think I am vain but I think I am simply building my confidence and self-esteem by trying to look and feel my best and I am okay with that.
As I get older my morning and evening skin care routine have become longer and more expensive. I probably spend at least an hour a day washing my face, applying serums, face masks, creams, sunscreen, micro-needling and using my rose quartz roller. I just started to use a facial steamer at least four times a week as well. A steamer provides so many benefits and I find it extremely relaxing. Steaming your face removes toxins, deep cleanses your skin, helps with blood circulation and hydrates your skin on another level.
I recently made a large investment on a NuFace facial toning device. The device stimulates your face and neck with a gentle microcurrent. It helps improve facial contour, tones and reduces wrinkles and fine lines. I never would have made such a large purchase without reading all the amazing reviews and seeing firsthand how it does truly work. For maximum results I will use the device 15 to 20 min a day for the first 30 days. I have been using it for a week and have already seen results! It plumps my fine lines, making them almost disappear! It is a commitment but once you start seeing the results you won’t think of it like that. I am so happy I made this purchase and invested in my vanity. Ha! It is pricey but it is cheaper than Botox and other surgical procedures. I am sure you are curious about NuFace now so click on the link and see for yourself. I will be sharing some before and after pictures after using it for 30 days. http://www.mynuface.com
I will continue to make time for myself and my skin care routine and if this seems vain to you then that is completely fine by me. I am taking self-love to the next level!

Aging is a part of life and I completely get that but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Here are some easy anti aging tips that you might want to start doing ASAP.
Drinking water, exercising regularly and getting enough sleep are things you can easily do to have your skin looking as refreshed and youthful as possible. Drinking plenty of water through out the day will keep your skin hydrated. Hydrated skin will look younger and have a natural glow. I have a pitcher of cucumber water in my fridge at all times to make sure I drink enough water. Exercise increases your blood flow, which helps keep your skin vital and nourishes your skin cells. When you are sleeping your body’s hydration re balances. If you do not get enough sleep your water will not be balanced which leads to puffy eyes and dark circles and more visible lines and wrinkles can appear. These three easy tips make a wonderful recipe to having younger looking skin.
Moisturizing every day and night is a must! I don’t just moisturize my face either. I moisturize my whole body, from head to toe. Don’t forget your neck, back of your hands, knees and eyelids! When moisturizing your face, always massage in an upward circular motion. I have recently started a new weekly regime and I am really noticing a difference in my skin! My skin feels much softer and looks much brighter! Once a week I use a micro needle roller on my face, followed by Vitamin C serum and lastly, I apply some medicinal cream. This is taking it to a whole new level! The roller makes tiny little holes that allows the serum to penetrate and absorb deeper into the skin which allows for a more powerful result. Vitamin C is the latest craze for your skin because it is not only necessary for collagen production and maintenance but it is also a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals in your skin. The CBD oil in the medicinal cream really helps fade your fine lines while leaving your skin incredibly hydrated. I get this all natural cream from a local company in the city called Ouulo.
Your face has more contact with your pillowcase than any other fabric. This is why I only sleep on a silk pillowcase. The silk gives your face a healthy glow and keeps your face looking refreshed. Silk hydrates your skin by keeping moisture close to your skin.
Wearing sunscreen is the first and best way to help fight premature aging from the sun. Using a sunscreen daily, even in the winter can help protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
Wearing sunglasses will not only prevent sun damage but will also keep you from squinting which causes crow’s feet. So not only can sunglasses be part of your stylish outfit but they are protecting your eyes as well.
Sleeping with your make up on might be one of the worst things you can do for your face. I know we are all guilty of this. I keep face wipes by my bed for those times I am just too tired to get up and wash my face. The most important tip I can give you is to wash your face every night and to moisturize right after! This should be one tip you never skip. I add face wash to a silicone pore cleansing pad when I wash my face. The tiny bristles on the top of the pad massage debris out of clogged pores, while the larger bumps exfoliate and overall soften the skin.
I hope I have inspired you to take better care of your skin and you add these tips to your your daily routine.
